Traditional SANTA CLARA, CA
The Concept
The homeowners wanted to enhance this galley kitchen’s overall feel, balance, and usage by updating materials, lighting, and adding organization elements while still keeping within its tight galley-style layout. Aesthetically, a balanced proportion of cabinetry between the refrigerator and microwave cabinet gave a sense of stability. By pulling the sink cabinet forward just slightly created interest within the long line of cabinetry while also giving the opportunity to layer the contrasting countertop.
Material Selections
The show-stopping polished chrome gantry faucet and Franke farm style sink welcome you into the room while the inset shaker cabinets with contrasting oil rubbed bronze exposed hinges and hardware pulls you through the modern galley kitchen design. Natural marble subway tile is enhanced by the arched range niche accented with an Akdo basket weave marble mosaic. The dark soapstone countertops balance the bright cabinetry and detailed mill-work while the running board grooves at the sink offer functional detail.
